Welcome to the Rochester Singles Group Meetup. We are a group in Rochester, NY organized through meetup.com for the purpose of meeting new people and possibly finding the special someone you've been looking for. We organize a variety of events within the community to help singles network and meet new people.

Events

Chances are, if you've been single for very long, you've been to the singles bars and looked for ways to get out there and meet new people. While we do organize some events within the local bar scene, we also organize events to see movies, plays, concerts, amusement parks, and outdoor activities. If you want to do more than just meet people in a bar, you've come to the right place. We typically plan one or two events per week and with the variety of events available, I'm sure we'll have something that will appeal to you.

In addition, we encourage all of our members to suggest new ideas for upcoming events. The group and the direction it takes is defined by the members. Because of that, you have a voice in determining the types and kinds of events that appear on the event calendar and we look forward to your suggestions.

Quick Facts:

We are not a dating service. When you participate in a Rochester Singles Meetup event, it's just like going out to a movie, play, or concert with a group of friends. We won't ask you for any personal information other than what's necessary to introduce you to the group.

There are no group fees or dues. The only charges you will have to pay are the standard costs you would expect to pay if you went out with a group of friends for the evening. You do have to pay your part of any tickets, meals, or drinks. In general, we do try to post the relative cost of an event so you know in advance how much it will cost. In some cases, we get group discounts for events, so you pay a little less than you normally would otherwise.

Disclaimer

We do need to point out that there is some risk in meeting people for the first time. We don't screen our membership, nor do we conduct background checks before granting membership. We recommend that members take the same precautions in dating that they normally would when starting any new relationship.

Also, we are not a group that promotes casual sex. We expect members to have the same level of respect and self control that would be appropriate in any public venue.
